If you're like most of our patients, your journey to find relief from low back pain has been frustrating and filled with temporary solutions. It likely started with pain medications or muscle relaxants to mask the discomfort. When that didn’t work, physical therapy may have offered some improvement—or, in some cases, aggravated your condition further.

Eventually, the recommendations often turn to cortisone injections or even surgery, forcing you to choose between invasive options or living with persistent pain.

Causes & Treatments of Low Back Pain

Pelvic Rotation

What is it and how do we treat it?

Pelvic rotation occurs when one side of the pelvis tilts forward or backward, leading to misalignment and imbalance. This condition is a common yet frequently overlooked cause of persistent low back pain.

To address pelvic rotation, our clinic focuses on realigning your pelvis to its natural position, thereby reducing strain on your spine and muscles. Our treatment approach includes precise chiropractic adjustments, stabilizing exercises, and postural corrections to ensure comprehensive care and lasting relief.

Sciatica

What is it and how do we treat it?

Sciatica is characterized by sharp pain that travels from the lower back down to the toes, following the path of the sciatic nerve. True sciatica often includes symptoms like radiating nerve pain into the toes, which distinguishes it from other types of back pain.

At our clinic, we focus on chiropractic adjustments to alleviate the nerve pressure causing sciatica. This targeted treatment approach helps reduce the direct compression of nerves, providing relief from pain and improving overall mobility while preventing future episodes.

Spinal Disc Compression

What is it and how do we treat it?

Spinal disc compression occurs when the discs between your vertebrae are compressed or lose height, leading to pressure on surrounding nerves and potentially causing sharp or radiating pain, especially when sitting or bending forward.

At our clinic, we treat spinal disc compression without invasive procedures, focusing on reducing inflammation, restoring spinal function, and providing long-lasting relief. Our comprehensive treatment includes gentle spinal decompression, precise chiropractic adjustments, and targeted postural corrections.

What Our Satisfied Patients Are Saying

Jeffrey

Here is a perspective from someone who was not a believer at all in Chiropractic care. I had been struggling with severe sciatica for over 2 years. On this particular day I was in so much pain so figured I would give their pitch a listen.

Dr. Zak was so thorough in his approach and explaining to me where we would be correcting based off of x rays. The x-ray was very comforting knowing they were using data to address what was wrong and causing the pain.

The best part after about 3 months I have no more pain. It's gone. I know there is still work to be done to completely fix these lower back issues but having the relief after 2 years is something you can't put a price tag on.

I'd highly recommend coming here and taking a dive of faith if you were skeptic like I was. My experience here has been nothing short of amazing.

David

I recently switched to Intero Chiropractic after a few months of not seeing any real results at a different chiropractic office. From my first appointment, I knew this place was the real deal. They conducted a series of tests and scans that my previous office did not. I've suffered from chronic migraines for a few years now and after about a month of working with Dr. Zak, they're just about completely gone! I've had only one headache since beginning the adjustments, but I felt the difference after just the second session.

I never write reviews but honestly this place has been a life saver. I am used to getting a headache about every 3/4 days and it is almost strange to have gone this long without one. I'm also happy about the fact that they address the multiple issues I was concerned with under the same plan. My last chiro would charge a whole different price for sinus adjustments but at Intero it's super convenient that all of my issues will be taken care of without having to worry about paying extra. I'm super excited to see how I will feel after completing their adjustment plan.

Can't even begin to express how awesome my journey has been at Intero. The staff is awesome, flexible scheduling (including last minute changes), and of course Dr. Zak. He was the best ever. Majority of my back issues have been resolved and looking forward to doing some form of maintenance to keep the improvement Dr. Zak adjusted. Thanks Intero :))

How Can We Help You Heal?

FAQ

Do you take insurance?

We are in-network providers for Medicare and Personal Injury cases. We are not in network with other insurances to ensure we can provide the highest quality of care possible. This approach allows us to provide personalized treatment plans, diagnostic methods, and cutting-edge techniques without the limitations often imposed by insurance companies. Our focus is on delivering the most effective care to achieve lasting results, which we believe leads to better health outcomes and lower healthcare costs in the long run.

How many visits will I need and how much will it cost?

This depends on your goals, as well as the extent of the problems. After we conduct a thorough Funneled Diagnosis™, which includes a case history, a 30 point exam, nerve assessments and full spine x-rays, we will be able to give you an estimated timeline as well as budgetary cost to achieve your health goals.

What is the process like to become a new patient?

On your first visit we'll perform a comprehensive diagnostic session which is crucial for understanding your unique health situation. We perform a full Health History Consultation, 30-Point Exam, full spine Nerve Assessment, and Full Spine Digital X-rays. This thorough approach allows us to uncover underlying issues that might be missed in a standard exam, ensuring we have a complete picture of your health.

After carefully analyzing your results, we meet again for a secondary visit to review our findings. We'll explain everything in detail, helping you understand your body's current state and why you're experiencing certain symptoms. Then, we'll present a tailored treatment plan designed specifically for your needs. This visit is your opportunity to gain clarity on your condition and understand which tools we'll need to employ to lead to lasting improvements in your health.

Do I need to take X-rays?

X-rays are essential to our diagnostic process. They allow us to thoroughly examine your spine before treatment, ensuring we provide the most accurate and effective care. We perform all X-rays in-house for your convenience. However, if you have full-spine X-rays taken within the last year, we can use those instead. Our goal is to have a complete picture of your spinal health to tailor our treatment to your specific needs so we are able to deliver the best possible outcomes for your health.

Also, if you have a contraindication (e.g., radiation therapy, pregnancy), please let us know and we will modify accordingly with a more detailed postural examination.

How do you determine the cause of my back pain?

On your first visit, we perform a comprehensive diagnostic process to identify the root cause of your low back pain. This includes a detailed consultation to discuss your medical history, symptoms, and care goals, followed by a 30-point physical exam to assess your posture, movement, and overall spinal health. We also conduct a nerve assessment to evaluate nerve function and take full spine X-rays to gain a clear and precise view of your spinal alignment and any structural issues.

By looking at your spine and health holistically—including posture, weight distribution, nerve condition, muscle tension, and more—our doctors can piece together a complete picture of what’s going on and develop a treatment plan tailored to your needs.

Can multiple conditions cause my back pain?

Yes, it’s common for multiple conditions to contribute to back pain. Issues like pelvic misalignment, spinal disc compression, and nerve irritation often occur together, creating a cycle of discomfort and dysfunction. For example, a misaligned pelvis can lead to uneven weight distribution, which in turn puts additional pressure on spinal discs and nerves. That’s why our diagnostic approach looks at your spine and overall health holistically. By identifying and addressing all contributing factors, we can provide a comprehensive treatment plan that targets the root causes of your pain for long-lasting relief.

How is your treatment different from other chiropractic care?

Our approach is rooted in precision and science. Unlike many chiropractic practices that rely on generalized adjustments or guesswork, we take the time to understand exactly what’s causing your pain before starting treatment. You wouldn’t let a dentist start drilling your teeth without first performing an exam and taking X-rays, and we take the same approach to spinal health. Our goal isn’t just to treat symptoms—it’s to correct the problem at its source.

During your first visit, we perform a comprehensive consultation, 30-point exam, nerve assessment, and full spine X-rays to ensure we have a clear picture of your condition. This allows us to create a highly personalized treatment plan that addresses the root cause of your pain, providing long-term relief and improved health.
